Exam Pattern for NEET 2024

The NEET 2024 exam will be a pen-paper-based test (PBT) that a student needs to attempt with a duration of 3 hours and 20 minutes. The question paper will consist of a total of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and the candidates are required to attempt 180 questions in total. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks, and each incorrect answer will have a negative marking of one mark.

Physics:

  • The physics NEET exam section will have 45 questions in total.
  • There will be two sections dividing all questions in Section A and Section B.
  • Section A is compulsory and will have 35 questions, and Section B will have 15 questions, out of which students need to attempt 10 questions.
  • The total marks for the physics NEET 2024 section will be 180.

Chemistry:

  • The chemistry section will also have a total of 45 questions.
  • Similar to the physics section, the questions will be divided into Section A and Section B.
  • Section A will have 35 questions that are compulsory to attempt, and Section B will have 15 questions, out of which only 10 are required to attempt.
  • The total marks for the chemistry section will be 180.

Biology:

  • As NEET 2024 is a medical entrance exam, the biology section will have the highest number of questions, that is 90 questions in total.
  • These 90 questions will be further divided into 45 questions from Botany and 45 questions from Zoology.
  • The total marks for the biology section in the NEET exam will be 360.
