The 1050-bed teaching hospital and private medical school Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences are situated in Narketpally village, Nalgonda District, Telangana state, India, on NH65, approximately 80 kilometers (50 miles) from Hyderabad. 

Serving the rural population in and around Narketpally is the medical college hospital. Students from all over the world come here to seek a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) degree, in addition to state residents.

The college has the approval of the Medical Council of India and is associated with Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences. The medical college is applying to become a Deemed University.

In 1999, the medical college opened its doors to 100 students in its inaugural class. As a member of the Kamineni Education Society, Sri Kamineni Suryanarayana, an engineer, architect, builder, and industrialist, promoted the college. Since 1999, the popularity of college has increased because of the positive board results and the growing patient base brought about by the hospital's free procedures.

 A batch's size expanded from 100 to 150 students, and in the process, more postgraduate medical courses were added, including general medicine, general surgery, radiology, pediatrics, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, ENT, and ophthalmology.
