NEET UG (National Eligibility Entrance Test Undergraduate)
NEET UG (National Eligibility Entrance Test Undergraduate) is an entrance examination held in India for students seeking admission to undergraduate medical programmes at government and private medical colleges. The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the exam on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
NEET UG Exam Pattern
The NEET UG exam is a pen-and-paper exam with multiple-choice questions. The examination lasts three hours and consists of 180 questions. NEET UG Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for NEET UG exam, a candidate must fulfil the following criteria:
The candidate must be an Indian citizen or an Indian Overseas Citizen (OCI).
The candidate must be 17 years old at the time of admission or will be 17 on or before December 31, of the year of admission.
The maximum age for NEET UG is 25 years old as of the examination year. The upper age limit, however, is relaxed by 5 years for candidates from the SC/ST/OBC-NCL and PwD categories.
The candidate must have passed a 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board, with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects.
The candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the general category candidates, 45% marks for PWD candidates and 40% marks for SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates.
Application Procedure for NEET UG
The NEET UG exam application process is done online. The steps involved in the application process are as follows:
- Visit the NEET UG official website.
- Click on the 'New Registration' button and enter your name, date of birth, email address, and mobile number.
- After registering successfully, log in with your registration number and password.
- Fill out the application form with the necessary personal, academic, and communication information.
- Upload scanned images of the candidate's signature and photograph in the format specified.
- Pay the application fee online with a credit or debit card, net banking, or UPI.
- After making a successful payment, download and print the confirmation page.
UG NEET Admit Card
The NEET UG admit card is a required document that the candidate must bring to the examination centre. The steps for downloading the NEET UG admit card are as follows:
- Visit the NEET UG official website.
- Select the 'Download Admit Card' option.
- Enter your registration number, birth date, and security pin.
- The admit card will appear on the screen.
- Print the admit card after downloading it.
- NEET UG Exam Day Procedures
NEET UG is a highly competitive exam, and it is critical to follow all of the exam's rules and regulations to avoid disqualification. The following items are strictly prohibited in the NEET exam:
Electronic Gadgets: Candidates are not permitted to bring mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, or any other electronic devices into the examination hall.
Stationery Items: Candidates are only allowed to carry their NEET admit card, a passport-sized photograph, and a valid ID proof. The examination authorities provide stationery items such as pens, erasers, and rulers.
Candidates are not permitted to carry any printed or written material, such as books, notes, or any other study material in the examination.
Candidates are not permitted to bring any bags or luggage into the examination hall.
Shoes with thick soles or heels: Candidates should avoid wearing shoes with thick soles or heels because they may cause discomfort when using foot-operated equipment.
Food and Drinks: Candidates are not permitted to bring food or drinks into the examination hall.
Impersonation: Impersonating someone else or attempting to appear in the examination on their behalf is strictly prohibited and may result in disqualification and legal action.

NEET UG Counseling Process in India
The National Eligibility and Entrance Test for Undergraduate Medical Courses, or NEET UG, is a highly competitive exam in India. While the NEET UG counselling process varies slightly between states and institutions, the following general steps are usually followed:
Candidates who pass the NEET UG must register for counselling on the official website of the respective counselling authority.
